As a co-educational secondary special assistance Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, we are dedicated to meeting the complex needs of young people who have found themselves outside the mainstream educational system. Our approach is grounded in the principles of being safe and legal, respect, honesty, and participation.
Our diverse student cohort includes both Indigenous and non-Indigenous young people who have faced significant and complex educational, social, developmental, psychological, health, legal, or familial challenges. We provide individualized responses to support their unique needs.
At Mt Isa Flexible School, we strive to offer holistic learning experiences that address the social needs of our students and promote their emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and academic development. Our goal is to empower young people to take personal responsibility for their actions and learning, achieve greater autonomy and self-reliance, and successfully transition to further education and/or employment.
We believe that a liberating education, based on Gospel spirituality, within an inclusive community committed to justice and solidarity, will facilitate the co-creation of a better world for all. We invite you to learn more about our school and join us as part of our community.
